Thai health scheme used in major study

Thailand's experience of universal health coverage has prompted the Rockefeller Foundation to encourage other countries to adopt the scheme in a three-year project costing half a million US dollars.

The foundation will spend $532,000 (16 million baht) on a centre that will share experiences and best practices.

It will cover neighbouring countries as well as low-income nations such as India, Mongolia and Ghana.
