Why workouts don't always work

It is a sad but all too commonplace fact that most people get frustrated and give up exercising before they see any real results.

Six months is the average length of time that people spend in a health club before quitting. And their excuses for so doing? I don't have enough free time. Or, I'm not noticing any changes. But what you are doing in terms of exercise directly determines the results you will achieve. In addition, people may choose the wrong kind of workout for their purposes or misunderstand some of the underlying concepts about exercising.

If you want to lose weight, stop eating so much. If you want to be fit, either get a job that requires manual labor every day or, if you work in an office, do yoga. One cannot possibly exercise enough to offset overeating. Exercising hard, if you are an office worker, will just make hard, overworked muscles. I am a massage therapist and I see what happens when 'week-end warriors' try to exercise hard enough to make up for 40+ hours at an office job. Spare yourself the misery and expense of a gymn and practice yoga at home.
