Technology damages brain

Electronic devices which easily substitute for thinking will result in higher numbers of people with Alzheimer's disease, according to the Public Health Ministry.

Deputy Public Health Minister Chonlanan Srikaew said on Thursday that the use of gadgets like calculators, mobile phones and even karaoke machines opens up the possibility for users to lose their memory and eventually develop Alzheimer's disease.

"Using technologies instead of the brain at a young age could speed up the process of memory loss. Therefore, children should practice the alphabet or memorise song lyrics more often," the deputy minister said.

You don't need to be Einstein to figure this out, it is a law of evolution, what isn't used gets atrophy, what is overused gets wear and tear, So the next decade the world might full with people walk like zombi with limping hands and arms because of nerves damage.Fingers might morph to claws. We are aliens of our planet earth.

What a load of rubbish. This guy is obviously not a doctor and knows nothing about the many suspected underlying causes of dementia and alzheimers.

Where does Thailand find these people and why are they put in positions where they can say ridiculous things that some people might actually believe?

The speed at which the brain has to function now in order to keep up with these electronic devices is astounding. I would think the brain today functions much faster and better than ever before. The ammount of data that pours into a childs brain today is amazing and remember children have a tremdously high retention rate.
