At the end of October, Spectrum ran a story about a young Burmese woman, Ma Wint, who needed 300,000 baht to treat bleeding in her brain. As a result of her condition, Ma Wint, 18, suffered from debilitating seizures and painful headaches that stopped her from studying or leading a normal life.
PRELIMINARY PREPARATION: A medical team fits Ma Wint with a protective mask ahead of the CyberKnife procedure.
Kanchana Thornton, the manager of the Burma Children Medical Fund explained that Ma Wint was diagnosed with arteriovenous malformation _ an abnormal connection between the arteries and the veins in her brain _ and had a history of intracranial haemorrhaging.
