You'll love it when a plan comes together

Many expats don't realise until it's too late that they are insufficiently prepared for their financial future.
Why is this case? For the most part it is because expats are not in their country of origin, but behave as if they are. As a long-term expat of 32 years, I advocate this life, but the fact is that our adopted countries are still foreign lands. We are guests and cannot expect to be treated as we would be in our home countries. There is no welfare state for us; we have to survive through independence and cannot get support elsewhere.
Having said that, expats enjoy exciting lives in their adopted lands.
