Seeds of hope in forest fight

The offensive against developments encroaching on protected land in Thap Lan National Forest may have slowed, but officials are taking heart in some early re-planting efforts, while saying much more needs to be done

Only the foundations and wreckage remain of houses and resorts that once stood on the plots. But as Mr Taywin tours the area he points out spots where grass is growing high and tree saplings are rising up.
