  • Online news:

Keng Karun, a Bangkok MP of the main opposition Puea Thai Party, announced on Saturday afternoon that he, other party Bangkok MPs, Love Thaksin People groups and several other democratic organizations will next week launch campaign to collect signatures of people for seeking royal pardon for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Mr Karun said his campaign is for providing convenience for people who want to help the ex-premier return to Thailand. The MP strongly criticized the twin brothers Kawsan and Kwansuang who opposed the royal pardon seeking bid. He said he did not know the two famous academics used which part of his body to think that the bid was not constitutional. He stressed that the royal pardon seeking bid is in line with the charter.

Mr Kaewsan and Mr Kwansuang had yesterday blasted the attempt to seek royal pardon by the core leaders of the United front for Democracy against Dictatorship. They said the bid was not lawful and was the dragging high institution into politics for self interest.

ANachak discussion #4: You are very thoughtful and hoping to see these groups come together.

The problem is there are also the blue and black shirts.

That is not a joke. Understanding this helps explain why these divisions will remain...

NIT...you sound like you and your family have everything figured out. It so soooo pleasant living in the Thai middle class while those uneducated farmers grow your rice.

anachak khmer - Just this morning I ate with a group of women from Issan. It was very interesting and enlightening to hear their views. Some were well educated from the university, some has little formal education. They were all of one mind that they wanted Thaksin back and there was no other choice in their minds, the temple belonged to you (Cambodia), they all disliked the Democrats and the medaling of the military.

While I don't see the pardon bid being successful I believe it is their right to collect signatures.

    Thaksin is Power hungry.
He is greedy for more money than he has already.
He walks OVER and ON Thais.
He helped to murder Thais in the "war of drugs"
    He is a braggart.
    He is a proven liar.
He is a man who lost his face.
He is a man without shame.
    He is a felon.
    Etc etc etc.

Does any Thai really want a figure like this
for a Prime Minister of this country ?

I (and my family) DO NOT !

    Dear,Thai friends,

I'm not sure you are part of Red, blue or yellow shirt. But what I'd like to share with you all is that. Through the observation so far, I found that the politician of the current government is trying to push Khun Thaksin into a wall even his mistake can be reconsidered for the purpose of stabilizing your country and the dividing between Red, blue and yellow. If a small mistake which can pardon why not consider to exchange to the turmoil in your country. A turmoil and chaos at your country can create a very big loss than what Khun Thaksin's wrong doing. Being smart, you can use the Win Win strategy like My Prime Minister"Samdach AkakMohaPadei Decho Hun Sen"did in my country. For the purpose of National reconciliation must sometime need pardon to the wrong doer for the stability and prosperity of the country. As what I heard from Khun Thaksin, he said that he still have the ability to help his country to fight against the financial crisis, why let him lying on the sand alone? This so regret for him as well as the Thai people if your government just afraids of Khun Thaksin to come back and take away their popularity and power or win the next election without thinking of reducing the prolong tuimoil in your country. No matter who is the Prime Minister or leader, only matter how the leader bring prosperity and make the standard of living of people growth and especially reduce the tuimoil. Hopefully, you all will take my point of view to consider so that in the near future, I can see your people wearing Red,blue and yellow shirt sit close to each other and talk with smile and become close friend periodically.

This's just my opinion as being a neighboring country. Thanks,

Guys, for better or worse Thaksin was elected by the majority of the electorate. Spin it any way you want but he still had a majority and was overthrown by a military coup which is illegal.

It's the reds right in the constitution to protest and to go for a petition bid.

You have forgotten your history, it is not the reds that began to tear the country apart.

What none of these so called Thaksin fans realize is that Thailand is going to be torn in half by this.

I do not think Thaksin would survive 1 year if he returned under these pardon requests...unless Abhsit is going to give one of the bullet proof cars that are on order
