Panithan Wattanayakorn, acting government spokesman, has denied a news agency report that the new leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka has been arrested in Bangkok.

“The Tamil Eelam leader was not arrested in Thailand as was reported by a foreign news agency,” Mr Panithan said on Friday morning.

He admitted that the person concerned had made visits to Thailand.

State security agencies were checking information relating to the case, he said.

Al-Jazeera news online reported that Selvarajah Pathmanathan was arrested in Thailand, quoting Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara, a Sri Lankan military spokesman.

What's wrong with Al Jazeera and Malaysian Government?

It is a fact that all Tamil Hindu malaysians knows that the Malaysian government arrested KP, Tamil leader in Kuala Lumpur. Al Jazeera whose major Asia office located right in the heart of KL acknowledged this fact. There is no way Al Jazeera would not see what's happening in KL and what Malaysian government is doing.

However, you don't find anything in Strait Times in Malaysia or any other newspaper in other languages in Malaysia as they are all controlled by the government. The Malaysian government must demonstrate sincere and truthful diplomacy to neighboring countries.

As a Thai citizen who travels to Malaysia quite often, and will omit from criticizing other country's foreign policy, I find Malaysian government lack of sincerity and true cooperation.

    Remarkable...

The Sri Lankan Defence Minister, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, told the BBC that the new Tamil Tiger leader had been arrested.

Would the minister say this without any grounds?!

BP, please do not only report, kindly investigate!
