The recall of Thai ambassador to Cambodia is not too harsh diplomatic retaliation, Borwornsak Uwanno, secretary general of King Prajadhibhok’sInstitute, said.

“Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has made the right decision”, Mr Borwornsak said.

However, he warned that all concerned parties should be very careful about the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.

He was concerned that it could be the starting point of a fall of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Mr Borwornsak was the secretary-general ofousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Bob of you divide your comments into sentences i think more people will possibly read them.

One long paragraph of Kerouac-style monologue needs someone of the same caliber as a writer to grab people's attention.

    ------------

It is odd that the powerful in Thailand have mastered the art of "dividing", the better to rule the masses with.

And yet, to get at one man, they need to "unite" the masses behind pseudo nationalism.

Thailand is being manipulated and maneuvered from up on high with ruthless indifference to the consequences nor of the masses of poor and near poor, nor of the international community.

Again, if Taksin has fallen into this stupid trap he is a fool. But I suspect the trap may have been set for Abhisit. Time will tell who the real fool is. Unless of course the military steal the show again, in which case they will continue to have history re-written as they like.

Case in point about how the government is overreacting. The economic impact this can cause. For once, Abhisit needs to think before he makes a move. Otherwise, all Thais are doomed.

I agree totally with this statement "that the recall of Thai ambassador to Cambodia is not too harsh diplomatic retaliation" stated by Borwornsak Uwanno, secretary general of King Prajadhibhok’sInstitute. This is in itself a very serious action in which individual countries express their views in not only a diplomatic way but also a political way. Many people are totally oblivious of what the role of an ambassador is and should first understand that he is the representative of his country and represents the needs of his country citizens first. He is appointed by the Ruler, King, Queen, President, Sultant, etc of that particular country. In the present situation the Thai government are expressing their feelings regarding the appointment of fugitive, criminal, on the run Thaksin Shinawatra as an economic advisor to Cambodia. The political ramifications caused by this despot are extremely dangerous in many ways and can be very destabilising indeed and for what reason. There are many reasons but the main reason is hatred and retaliation for the jail sentence imposed on him by the Supreme Court for breaking the law. What the vast majority of Thais do not understand is that Hun Sen has stated that he will give sanctuary to this megalomaniac and will not deport him if he in his country. In other words he agrees with criminal Thaksin that it was a political motive and the sentence imposed by the criminal court is null and void. In plain English this implies that your highest court in the land "The Supreme Court is worthless. My god what a statement to make. No civilised country in the world would accept those remarks. Very serious criminal charges would be brought against those individuals such as Treason, etc with serious consequences which could be an extended jail sentence or as in the case in China a bullet in the back of the head on leaving the court.
The Abhisit government are in a state of paralysis over this individual and it will intensify as time goes by until the country stops this deposed despot Thaksin Shinawatra in his tracks anarchy will prevail. If we look at the media coverage given him 60% of both the newspapers and TV. covers his actions or remarks and then 20% is covered by his puppets and so called spokes persons not to mention the Puea Thai circus.
Another ramification of this action is the political stability of the ASEAN countries who are trying to bring harmony and integration into the community but this will never happen in 100 years. There is already one rogue state in the club "Burma"and another one in the form Cambodia will only strengthen its uselessness. Just a name on paper.

Such a very POOR statement coming from Mr. Borwornsak Uwanno, secretary general of King Prajadhibhok’s Institute. The two country relationship are at a cross road situation, and such a peaceful King Prajadhibhok’s Institute OUGHT to voice restrain to the highest degree to prevent further more damage.

Mr. Borwornsak Uwanno should practice AHINSA as a mean to solve any big or small conflict, and not throwing additional fuel in the current fire, also not bringing any more dark shadow to the Nation Fundamental institution for DEMOCRACY.

Thailand could do nothing to mend the relationship with Cambodia. (1) Besides taking Cambodia as their political tool, they want and protest Preah Vihear, the 4.6km cowardly and, when Cambodia gets back, they decrease the diplomatic relationship and so forth. We are the victim of the coward Thais. In all, Thailand has no ability and credibility to solve the problem and to be the leader of ASEAN, they have destroyed ASEAN and the solidarity.

This is not right at all to claim what they are doing is correct without looking or sitting in the seat of Cambodia and to feel how we feel.

If they keep doing it in this way, they will never be right and you can be hopeful of being ashamed.

One day the ASEAN and the int'l will be getting to you for what you do. though they dun care about it right now.

    please post my comments.

    thanks
