TV Channel 11 hit by grenade attack

Police suspect a grenade attack at state-run Channel 11 station was the work of the same people behind last week's explosion at the King Power Complex on Rang Nam Road.

Pol Gen Panupong Singhara na Ayutthaya, an adviser to the Royal Thai Police and chief investigator on the case. said initial inquiries into yesterday's attack on the station suggest a link to last Thursday's explosion at King Power, which left a security guard in critical condition.

A grenade landed in the car park of the station on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road about 1.30pm.

The Thai government needs to call elections soon else the whole Thai thing will end up like the french revolution and the guiloteen for the rich and powerful. The Thai government has made a huge mistake in putting the red shirts in prison they have made them into martyres with reprocussions for the elite and the army in the future. How stupid is Thai government to to realize this

    So these bombings help who?
Seems the yellow shirts have the most to gain.
Keep emergency rule, arrest reds, close websites, eliminate political gatherings.
O yea, the yellows are also starting a war with Cambodia to divert attention.

If the red shirt party dont get it power back they will attacked M79 every now and then until the opposition become government, then there will be no more bombing.
These shows that power hungry peoples still instigating unrest in our nation. The Police need to improve their security system to get hold of the culprit and see who is behind the big brother who has instructed them to BOMB our City.

#2, #4, I would easily agree that there is a 50/50 chance that either side could be doing the bombings, IF the PTP, Red Shirts and Thaksin hadn't already sworn to initiate a long-term guerrilla war against the government.

They have already openly admitted the black shirts were working for them, and after the mobs were dispersed, they swore to go underground. So....? Argue with PTP not Bangkok Post.

    My question is:
Why do people have to take this dangerous 'suicidal' route?

It's more then five year since the yellow first took to the streets to 'fight corruption, abused of power etc." Then the people elected government and constitution was thrown out not through parliamentary, electoral, judicial process.

Yes... and I'm sure Abhisit was behind the grassy knoll.
Red Shirts had grenades. Had a General nicknamed the Grenade General. 80+ grenade attacks were launched at Non-Red targets. Soldiers and civilians were killed by grenades. Not a single Red Shirt died from a grenade. Red Shirt was caught for the Big C blast.
Keep looking for conspiracy theories, but don't try to accept the obvious.

It is rare that I find myself alone in Bangkok. I don't understand why there aren't at least a few people that are witness to the firing of these things or cameras that capture something.

It is in the governments best interest to continue bombing and blaming opposition groups thus allowing them to maintain power indefinitely. Seems like its time for another coup d'état but this time by the military and not by attempt by the red shirts even though they represent the majority of peoples. It is the only thing that will save Thailand from falling backwards

Discussion 2 - as they are known for it and as they have threatened to keep doing it, they're prime suspects. Who do you think is behind it? Speculation is what the media, all media, is about. It helps them create an air of confusion and concern, which sells papers.

They do it for the media coverage. If you didn't cover the story, sometimes several stories about the same attack, they probably wouldn't do it.
