Despite widespread criticism the Interior Ministry's resuffle list received the cabinet's approval, and so did the military reshuffle list which was also royally endorsed. Beset by factionalism and defections, the opposition Puea Thai suddenly pleaded for peace with the government.

The Bhumjaithai party has finally got what it has wanted from the Interior Ministry.

The cabinet on Tuesday approved the Interior Ministry’s reshuffle list involving C10- and C11-level officials, several of them known to be closely connected with Newin Chidchob, the party’s de facto leader.  This was despite an appeal from Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva for his ministers to adhere to the merit system in their consideration of the annual promotion lists.

Among the new appointees are Vichien Chavalit, the new director-general of the Provincial Administration Department; Surachai Khan-arsa, the new director-general of Community Development Department;  Kwanchai Wongnitikorn, the new director-general of Local Administration Department; and Suraphol Pongthadsirikul, the new deputy permanent secretary.

All four appointees are graduates of the political science faculty of Thammasat University, as is Saksayam Chidchob, younger brother of Mr Newin and chief of the working committee set up by Interior Minister Chavarat Charnveerakul.

Newin Chidchob gets his way again in exchange for his support in proping up the Democrat party. seems to me this is nothing less than bribery. The same as Taksin paid people to vote for him. Seems to me he should be the one fleeing from the court system.

Tens of thousands of troops and billions of baht in equipment, stationed in and around Bangkok.

Generals with millions in the bank, government in open collusion with them, the military, through both front and back door, making and amending the civil governments policies.

A murderous war in the south where Thai citizens are murdered daily, yet still they sit in comfort, getting up only to be shuttled around the capital playing their power games and making sure they get on TV.

Democracy at work in "Amazing" Thailand, yeah right.
