Saudi Arabia not happy with appointment of Pol Gen Somkid

The Saudi Arabia embassy has expressed its regret over the promotion of the provincial police commissioner Lt Gen Somkid Boonthanom to assistant national police chief despite being indicted in relation to the missing of a Saudi businessman.
The embassy has issued the statement on Friday that it was deeply regretted to learn that Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban reportedly said Pol Lt Gen Somkid was cleared from disciplinary investigation thereby justifying his promotion to the position of assistant national police chief.
