All the ballyhoo about Thailand hosting the 2020 expo is merely an attempt to divert attention from all the graft and corruption going on and in so doing, safeguard the interests of those who benefit from such proceeds.

In wanting to host the world expo, Thailand has expressed expectations far beyond its capability. Apart from massive infrastructure requirements, the rorting, corruption and double standards now being perpetrated on farangs will doubtless deter many countries from setting up displays in such a dirty, sleazy and xenophobic ridden place.

Thailand's not in the same ball park as countries capable of sponsoring a world expo and mark my words, if it's to be held in Thailand with all its rorting, graft and corruption, people will shun the place like the plague and it will be doomed ... even before it has a chance to open!

Thailand is not competent to hose the World Expo.
    1. They cannot take care of their own community
    2. They do not preserve their own cultural sites
    3. Too much corruption among politicians and businessmen
    4. Sites used for the Expo will become unused and difficult to maintain, becoming another sore eye among many buildings around Thailand.

please apologize me? i think the world must have lesson learned for organizing such these big events, olympic games, world cup, Expo and so on. they are wasting of resources. they are too big events and out-of-date. It is very hard for me to digest these too big events indeed.

No question CNX is the best of the three, but the local infrastructure would burst at the seams, and the city would pay dearly for decades. I was living in Ramkamhaeng before the Asian Games and I remember the 'push' to complete the infrastructure. It ended up being built with paper mache - and crumbled to dust within weeks after the closing of the games.

It is a wonder that Thailand could afford to put this on, even if it is scaled back. The investment is huge and the payback time frame is short. How useful will what remains be afterward? It would be better to invest in basic infrastructure than something like this.

Your house is a total mess. Clean yourself up first before you want to hold a wordl-class event. Thailand is not a world -class country , so much poverty in the countryside. It's a small pussycat who wants to play big but has no means to do so

Any event of the size like a world expo will destroy the location where it's held. No matter if Ayutthaya, Pattaya or Chiang Mai. There is simply no infrastructure existing, nor has the government the money to build it. And before they announce such stupid plans they should better aks the citizens. I'm sure the people of Chiang Mai will vote against it.
