MP sees little hope for Puea Thai peace bid
Political split from red, yellow shirts opposed
The chances a "peace plan" put forward by Puea Thai will result in the party softening its stance towards the Democrats are slim, says Plodprasop Suraswadi, the party's deputy leader and author of the proposal.
Too many Puea Thai MPs disagree with a proposed compromise that would see the party distance itself from the red shirt movement.
Mr Plodprasop told a radio interviewer yesterday his plan was "unlikely to happen", but he hoped peace talks between rival groups could go ahead without the involvement of yellow and red shirt supporters.
