Let me see if I have this right.... Abhisit comes to the premiership vowing that this is one of the cases that he will have resolved. A police general and a few of his cohort are charged. That general is promoted (while still facing the charge). Abhisit says it is a done deal. So that's how things are resolved Abhisit-style.

Pol Lt Gen Somkid's name had been cleared through the passage of the 2007 amnesty law which wiped clean the records of all state officials charged with disciplinary offences.

Why not extend the same courtesy to former PM Thaksin?

Arrest Thaksin and send him back to Thailand. In return Thai government will send Somkid Boonthanom to Saudi Arabia.

As long as you are a higher ranked police in Thailand, you can get away with anything.

It just does to show, in Thailand the law never applies to the rich. The Saudi government needs to take diplomatic action or this issue will never be solved

It should not even need the pressure from the Saudis to remove a policeman indicted for a serious crimes!

The people who defend him are fools!

But of course he is the brother of one of the coup makers so Mr. Abhisit has no choice - the puppet has to dance to the rhythm of the people who pull the strings from above.

The lost revenue from Saudi directly affects poor laborers. The gov. would act differently if Saudi cuts import of, say, cement or steel products or CP product.
