CAT fight heats up over 3G auction

State agency readies case against NTC plans

State-owned CAT Telecom is citing the constitution and the interests of the government and the public as endorsing its resistance to the National Telecommunications Commission's plans to proceed with its 3G licence auction.

CAT Telecom's legal affairs manager, Sataporn Iadyai, said Monday the state enterprise would file its case against the auction with the Supreme Administrative Court Tuesday.

The court is expected to hand down its ruling on Thursday on whether the auction could go ahead.
