The suspected rock thrower was identified as Piyachat Thammapaed, nicknamed Ball, 25. He was apprehended in Bang Ban district yesterday morning.

He denied the allegations.

Police suspect Mr Piyachat of carrying out at least two attacks in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district in the last two weeks.

Famous rapper Joey Boy, whose real name is Apisit Opas-iamlikhit, was a victim in one of the incidents. No one was injured in the two attacks.

The rap star told police that a rock was thrown at his van from the roadside on the Pathum Thani-Bang Pahan road when he was travelling with three other people in the vehicle.

The rock smashed the windscreen of the van but no one was hurt, he said.

In previous rock-tossing attacks in the province, motorists have been killed.

While denying the allegation, Mr Piyachat said the idea of harming others had never crossed his mind because he had a family to take care of.

A witness has identified him as the rock thrower.
