His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is granting 152 scholarships to secondary students from needy families across the country to mark his 57th birthday tomorrow.

Her Royal Highness Princess Srirasm, royal consort to the crown prince, said yesterday 76 female and 76 male secondary students had been selected to join the crown prince's scholarship scheme this year.

Most recipients were poor students who performed well in their studies and conducted themselves well, the princess said. The scholarships are worth a combined 2.8 million baht.

The princess said 128 students studying in the general education field would be granted scholarships of 18,000 baht each, and 24 students from the vocational field would receive 22,000 baht each.

The students would be presented with their scholarships tomorrow, when they are granted a royal audience with the crown prince.
