Cabinet clears way for smart cards

Smart cards will be distributed to Thais early this year after the cabinet cleared an obstacle in the dispute over their manufacture.

Mongkol: Ministry adjustments allowed.

Mongkol Surasajja, director-general of the Interior Ministry's Provincial Administration Department, said the cabinet had agreed to allow changes to the ministry's specifications for the cards.
