3 die, 2 injured in firecracker 'factory' blast

AYUTTHAYA: A powerful blast destroyed a house that was being used as an illegal firecracker factory, leaving three people dead and two others injured.

Police inspect the site of a blaze caused by firecrackers exploding in Ayutthaya province’s Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district yesterday. Three people were killed and two others injured in the blast at a house which doubled as an illegal firecracker factory. The explosion caused a fire that burned down the house and two nearby wooden houses in the area. SUNTHORN PONGPAO

The explosion occurred at about 9am yesterday when workers were transferring firecrackers from the house to a pickup truck in tambon Ban Koh of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya district.
