NPP wants revocation of truce deal

The ceasefire agreement made by Thai and Cambodian armies must be rapidly revoked as it could lead to a permanent lose of Thailand’s territory, secretary-general of the New Politics Party (NPP) Suriyasai Katasila said on Sunday.

Mr Suriyasai called on army-chief-of staff Gen Daopong Rattanasuwan, who made the agreement on behalf of the royal Thai armed forces, to provide details of the...

Yes, the government should revoke a ceasefire that was not signed by them and was agreed against their specific instructions. Maybe Thaksin should simply "revoke" the coup that ousted him and just be prime minister again. And they wonder why no-one votes for them.

Good job Mark, please sign the cease fire asap, to stop a war from brewing by PAD.

It's really difficult as the government is not a majority voted to be govern, that's why all government decisions must be asked from Public to approve fist.. at least to PAD and TPN!!

Secretary-General of the NPP. Wow! Refresh my memory: that’s the political party with no elected representatives to date, isn’t it? (Whether you happen believe in the current political process or not.)

Obviously Mr. Suriyasai is misinformed. Perhaps he should be escorted to Bang Kwan for a proper education.

The details have apparently been made public, as general Chamlong and Mr. Panthep keep addressing the agreement point-by-point on the rally stage.

Besides, this agreement is not binding on the government, as it did not go through proper parliamentary procedures. The Abhisit government, NPP, PAD, and TPN are free to declare and wage war on Cambodia.

Of course, that may prove a bit more difficult as the army, by virtue of its ceasefire agreement, will stay out of the fray. But if I'm not mistaken, the 2nd Army commander has a standing, open invitation for Chamlong and the yellow-shirts to replace his soldiers at the border and become martyrs for their cause.
