Do you need a licence in Thailand to promote boxing matches (or even to participate as a boxer)?

barryw - You are so right. We spent last summer trying to find a decent English Curriculum school for our son in the North. We personally went to every school in 5 provinces. The added costs were astronomical and the schools were poor at best. We moved him to Canada and the total cost of his school year there is...... 620BT The added optional extras for a school lunch 80 bt a week and swimming lessons another 500bt. AND he loves it.

Everyone poor or rich works to give their children a better life and education. You people need to stop blaming the government for everything, its silly.

A family friend has a child at a school here, and the family has been told to pay 13,000 baht towards the cost of the air-con provided. If the family does not pay, the child will not receive the certificate she has studied for over three years. As far as I am aware, there is no such thing as free education in Thailand, with the students having to buy their own study materials, including text books, and their uniforms. One family I heard of had a kid thrown out of school after it was demanded he was bought a new pair of shoes that the family could not afford.
Gandhi once said that poverty was the worst kind of violence, and this country quite deliberately, as a matter of policy, does its best to keep much of the population uneducated and so in poverty.

A very tragic occurrence, while the government wastes billions on useless toys for the military boys, it's citizens die struggling trying to provide for their families. Disgraceful.

But didn't Our beloved PM say that education was free. Oh, that's just for those that can afford it.
