Princess points to Japan for morale

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn told flood victims yesterday to look to the people of Japan as a model of how to cope with hardship.

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn disembarks from her helicopter to offer encouragement to victims in flood-ravaged Nop Phi Tham district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province yesterday. She also met flood victims in Surat Thani’s Phunphin district later the same day.

She gave her advice during her visit to flood-ravaged Nakhon Si Thammarat and Surat Thani provinces.

    Yes, I agree with her. But not just look to the people of Japan as a model of how to cope with hardship. Also advise the Thais to look to the people of Japan as a model of how to stop corruption and how to stop the rich, police and the elite exploits and corrupts the poor.

    Japan could be looked upon for other reasons.For example the way it takes care of the elderly, the poor and unemployed and the health care system. There are other ways to do things but, within the context of today's Thai society striving for some of the things Japan can offer would be praiseworthy.

    For the poor, sick and elderly a time of crises is every day...
