UDD: Army preparing for a coup

Core members of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) claim the army's show of force this week is clear evidence of preparations for a coup to block the general election.

At a press conference  on Thursday, Natthawut Saikua, a UDD leading member, claimed he had information from an army general still in active service that the public show of force by the military was a check on the army's preparedness for a coup.

Mr Natthawut was referring to gatherings by soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division on Tuesday and of the 2nd Infantry Division today, both part of the 1st Army Region which includes Bangkok.

Perhaps a coup would result in Jatuporn finally being tried, convicted, jailed and thus silenced.

"Gen Chavalit had made a difficult decision," Jatuporn said. Well, maybe you should think one step furher and try to understand why he decided to leave Puea Thai Party. Your tactic to smear the monarchy has alienated most of Thailand against your party.

Keep grasping at those straws and maybe no one will notice how your party is falling apaprt right before the election you kept crying for .

Well, it seems Natthawut has learned nothing while he was in prison. He is simply taking up where Jatuporn left off with what the UDD's favourite occupation has always been - a coup threat. They have predicted about ten coups in the last year alone, practically on a monthly basis, and all backed by " secret information " that made each of them appear imminent. It seems lacking real issues, they can only fill in the vacuum with made-up ones. If Puea Thai is really interested in populous social issues, why is it that they never talk about them ? Natthawut will simply remind people of the high-pitch anxiety last year's rally caused in people's minds, where they were subjected to him every single day in front of a microphone and on TV. It's just what Puea Thai needs to achieve a resounding loss at the polls.

Sometime I do agree with UDD.

Total rubbish, the Army is merely grinding UDD credibility into dust.

This time I find myself disagreeing with the UDD. I really do not see the connection between a '' shows of force'' that was actually performed to demonstrate the Army' s loyalty and full support to the Thai Monarchy, which is something always to be praised, and an alleged preparation for some coup d' etat.

Thai military should give power to people to choose their leader.

Is there anything that Jatuporn is not the definitive expert on?
