Security tightened at US embassy

Bangkok police have strengthened the security around the US embassy in following the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by American special forces in Pakistan.

Police would patrol areas near the United States embassy on Witthayu Road on a 24 hour basis and around the residences  of senior US diplomatic officers, Metropolitan Police Bureau Division 5 commander Somchai Patcharainto said.

Checkpoints would also be set up in areas which represent  US business interests to prevent a possible terrorist attack.

    1. What are the police patrolling for exactly?

    2. If the embassy is compromised what is the first thing the police will do?

When were the police trained in anti-terrorist activities?
