Election race begins

The Democrat Party of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva drew position No.10 on the ballot paper when registration of party list candidates for the July 3 general election began at the Thai-Japanese stadium in Bangkok on Thursday morning.

The party's main rival, Pheu Thai, scooped the pool by drawing the No.1 position on the ballot paper in the party list system of proportional representation. There are 125 seats at stake.
