HTMS Prab sunk to make new reef

An old Thai warship, HTMS Prab, has been sent to the seabed off Ngam Noi Island, Chumphon province, to serve in its new role as an artificial reef for marine life, Thorn Thamrongnavasawat, of the fishery faculty at Kasetsart University, said on Friday.

A ceremony marking the final mission of  HTMS Prab was held this morning, he said.

The project to build an artificial reef off Chumphon’s shore was jointly initiated by the Royal Thai Navy and the Fishery Department, the Marine and Offshore Resources Department with  financial support by PTT Exploration and Production Plc, Mr Thorn said.

The aircraft carrier which has no aircraft would make a good reef too.
The army could contribute a heap of armoured personnel carriers and the air force could arrange another simultaneuos engine failure at an appropriate location.

Now we know what the old German submarines were intended for.

All kidding aside, this is the best purpose possible for any machine of war from any country accross this world.
Instead of keep on destroying our enviroment and each other, we help nature restore itself, and have no more means for mass killing.

Now that's a future that I would be very happy to see.
