Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has ordered all three of the country's armed forces to get ready for the implementation of the national defence plan, a military source says.

The armed forces are ready to protect Thai territory along the border with Cambodia, the source said yesterday.

The army is ready to implement its Kasat Suk (Warlord) and Phichit Suk (War Victory) plans. The Suranaree Task Force serves as the focal point of these two plans.

thai land like to accuse accuse, now what? don't see any fire in the border during election like they accusing Cambodia will doing that.

Please, do not waste our petroleum, time and all budget just to move up and down our arm force just to scare us Red supporter. We Thai got brain, such suck movement, the present govt playing is just to make the world look shit on us Thai. How can you justify this, protect our territory from Cambodia invasion ? Come on, you gotta be joking, will international stupid???????????

From the walk out to the implementation of these plans, it all seems way too well planned. One cannot ignore the timing either. Telling the world to go to hell and then starting a war is a very familiar pattern that we have seen around the world many, many times. Every dictatorship and totalitarian regime starts by "protecting" the nation, no matter how obvious it is that they engineered the threat in the first place.

First off Thaksin openly works with Hun Sen to undermine his own country. He also works openly with American corporate interests to undermine his own country. James Baker, Kenneth Adelman, Robert Amsterdam, Daniel Edelman, Robert Blackwill etc... all warmongering corporate-serving lackeys who have helped Thaksin in his bid to seize back power. Running a party by proxy, Thaksin expects Thailand to simply let him back into power? And Cambodia can be trusted to stay out of this? They haven't so far.

@D3, when I first read this article, I though that they mean the troop in the south, coz people and soldiers alike, die almost everyday...But it seems that Thai military fight in different direction.. And yeah, like most people here said, they fight the election result...But by taking the lives of those living at the borders as a tool to win their intention, they should be warranted by ICC..

... the current situation along the Thai-Cambodian border remains normal. Why does Thai Defense Minister need to put the troops on stand by? Is that a provocation? It looks like a childish new condition set by Mr Suwit.
