Extra mediators take on medical cases

A rising number of complaints over medical malpractice has prompted the Nonthaburi Provincial Court to appoint more mediators in a bid to avert protracted legal battles.

A new batch of 50 mediators will be added to the 90 incumbents and assigned to arbitrate disputes between accusers and defendants at the court, which deals with the country's highest number of medical malpractice cases.

The large workload is due to the court being in the same province as the Public Health Ministry.

If anyone thinks that it's bad now wait till the current crop of Doctors graduates. The Democrat government mandated that Medical schools lower the standards for entrance to 60% last year in an attempt to lure more people into the profession. I'm concerned, as everyone should be, that when we go to the doctor in the future there will be a built in 40% error rate on top of the one we have already. That's not remotely satisfactory in my books.
