RANGSIT CAMPUS MOVES FLOOD VICTIMS TO SECOND FLOOR AS DYKE IS BREACHED

Thammasat University's Rangsit campus yesterday lost its battle to hold back floodwater, which burst into the site through a broken dyke.

Some 3,500 flood victims from Pathum Thani and neighbouring provinces are being sheltered at the campus. The university elected not to move them following the inundation.

The university has appealed for boats and provisions needed to care for the evacuees who had been staying in a gymnasium building, said former university rector Surapol Nitikraipote. They have been moved to the second floor of the building.
