Rama II expected to go under within three days

The government should prepare alternative routes of transport and logistics to the South as Rama II Road is expected to be flooded within three days, Seri Supparathit, a Rangsit University expert on natural disasters, said yesterday.

The northern runoff has already passed Khlong Phasi Charoen in Bang Kae district and was about 5km from Rama II Road, which is one of the major roads linking Bangkok and the southern region, he said.

Floodwater situation in BKK is worsen little by little. We can't expect any sectors to help us and you alone should help. A piece of rumor news attacking us all the time. Don't believe it easily because it is very dangerous for you on decision. I got upset to the incident, government and Froc (Frog) that they can't manage to the flooding. I thinks 90% of Bangkokians fed up with it, felt seriously and felt down-hearted.Looking over every area,we only see the suffering people frome the flood evacuate all the time. What happened to the earth and the central parts of Thailand!

Wow, the Bangkok governor requesting the opening of flood gates to allow quicker discharge of water to the Tha Chin river and presumably on to the sea! Sounds like a step forward. Or is his reasoning that opening these sluice gates will make it easier for him to keep other ones closed?

She underestimates the number of people who need relief supplies, just like how she underestimate the floods and acted too slowly.

The prime minister has to use most of the time to monitor the overall flood situation, discuss with experts and cabinet, informing people about overall up-to-date situation from TV, radio, internet, and only if some time is left after having enough rest, can go around to comfort those who suffer from flood. Effectiveness and efficiency.

@nosurprise - MR Sukhumphand has been Bangkok's governor for 2 1/2 years. Where do you come up with 10 years from? Perhaps you prefer to listen to Yingluck, who has held office about 3 months and before that worked for her brother's companies. Both have advisors to tell them what is happening. Sukhumbhand went to Oxford, Yingluck to Kentucky State University. They know as much about floods as any political figure ... or typist.

Why do all the politicians in this country make people line up and hand out what ever they are giving away, one person at a time, and turn the whole episode into a prolonged photo op?
