Pha Muang Task Force launches own probe into sailor deaths
Pha Muang Task Force has ordered its own investigation into the alleged involvement of nine army officers in the deaths of 13 Chinese sailors in the Mekong River.
Commander Maj Gen Prakarn Chonlayuth said a series of rumours have circulated since the incident early last month, but stressed that at this stage he still has confidence in his men.
Maj Gen Prakarn said the nine officers have maintained their innocence and will fight the charges. They turned themselves in to police on Oct 28 to acknowledge the charges.
