A veteran snake handler has been inundated with calls since the deluge

Snake catcher Sompob Sridaranop is busier than ever during the floods, with hundreds of calls from people who have spotted the reptiles in inundated areas.

The 57-year-old civil servant attached to the Marine Department has been catching snakes for more than 30 years in Bangkok and Ayutthaya.

    A very decent man with good intentions. Thailand should have some leaders willing to do things for free. We wouldn't be in the mess we are in if they did

    The Mambas escaping is a perfect example of why animal smuggling is so bad .Tigers are bred here so much that they even advertise a tiger farm in Pattaya with a bunch of baby tigers drinking milk from a pig because the mom is being speed bred so she wont have to nurse them.Are they inbred ? I hope not for their sake and the sake of the species .
