School opening postponed to Dec 13

The reopening of 91 schools run by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has been postponed from Dec 6 to Dec 13 due to high flood levels, Bangkok deputy governor Taya Teepsuwan said Wednesday.

Mrs Taya said many schools in 10 districts of the capital, such as Sai Mai, Bang Bon, Don Muang and Lak Si, remain flooded.

Woe for those foreign teachers who are assigned in some bilingual schools in Bangkok. They are being paid per hour. I wonder how they do for a living in this kind of situation. I hope the BMA-Education will do something about it.

Glad I don't teach in Thailand any more.

I'm guessing Thailand will lose a lot of foreign teachers because of this too. They'll have no interest in working 6 or 7 days a week for the entire semester, particularly as many of them didn't receive payment from their schools when they were closed because of flooding.

Smart, Make the kids go to school 7 days a week because of a flood that was started by man. Maybe the people that run the goverment should go to school 7 days a week too. Then maybe they can learn to do their jobs correctly.
