Thailand rings in 2555

It's a brand new year in Thailand, where thousands went to Sanam Luang before midnight to pray for a better year than the departing 2011 - and then headed to celebrations around the country for Countdown 2012.

His Majesty the King sent his birthday card to all subjects on New Year's Eve.

Song ha ha ha. Sawasdee Pii Mai duay.

Wiki says : The Royal Thai General System of Transcription (RTGS) is the official system for rendering Thai language words in the Latin alphabet, published by the Royal Institute of Thailand. It is used in road signs and government publications, and is the closest thing to a standard of transcription for Thai, though its use by even the government is inconsistent.

I wonder in this year of the Thai tablet if there could be a effort to finally decide on a standard.

Then a mild disagreement between my friends Suwimol and Suwimon could be put to rest.
