"Mr Blair's optimistic forecast was made in a keynote address entitled "The Challenges and Opportunities in a Globalised World" at the CEO Forum organised by the Board of Trade and the Industry Ministry yesterday."

Earlier, I also indicated that 2012 would be a year of change for Thailand, hopefully, a "coup-free" year where things would go better than expected.

Funny, I don't get paid big speaking fees.

P.S. Tony WAS a Labour PM... now's he's gone "Euro-International" still spouting support for the One Currency (euro) that's dragging Greece, Spain, Portugal & Italy down!

What Mr. Blair never mentions is HOW to overcome the social and judicial inequalities, the attitudes of the hi-so towards peasants, the lack of a solid education system, the lack of a social welfare system, and massive graft and corruption. In reality, he offers no answers at all for any of Thailand's problems because until their is judicial equality, Thailand will never be anything more than a country run by the rich for their personal ill-gained money, guns and gangster mentalities to kill the opposition who gets in their progess of illegally making money. The people are long forgetten as the rich battle it out to see who can have the most money.

Tony Blair gets paid handsomely for his speeches.

    That says it all.

  • Discussion 2 : 18/01/2012 at 07:40 AM2

Do you expect him to come to Thailand and make a pessimistic statement?

  • Discussion 1 : 18/01/2012 at 03:30 AM1

What do you expect English gentleman say? Thailand will be doomed? ofcourse not, Thailand will be under spell of kind words and probably insincere flattering words from any countries's leaders. That is not the point. There are many areas that Thailand could or could have improved by the world's atanddard. But Thailand will say" Butt off our internal affair" Critizism improve the performance.Thailand will never improve in positive way that world will bless it. Corruption is continuing prosper as well as cabinet members. Most importance of all Thailand has a very short memmories and poor coordination. Any event that almost brought down the country will be like a nightmare. Never mind and forget about it....Mai Pen Rai Lerm Sia Terd .When Thailand will wake up?
