Politicians score big with football clubs

SPECIAL REPORT: More MPs scout for teams of their own

Politicians nowadays are now looking to own football clubs which not only gives them personal enjoyment, but also provides them with a chance to boost their profile and expand their political base.

They draw inspiration from Buriram PEA, run by Buri Ram politician Newin Chidchob, which has enjoyed huge success this year.

Buriram PEA completed a historic run on Saturday when it defeated Thai Port 2-0 in the League Cup final at Supachalasai National Stadium.
