King gives cash to flood-hit schools

His Majesty the King has granted 10 million baht in cash assistance to 50 schools in 10 central provinces that were affected by last year's flood crisis.

Khunying Amporn Meesuk, who chairs the educational assistance department of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage, said His Majesty has been concerned about the affected schools in the 10 flood-hit central provinces.

The King has instructed the foundation to provide 200,000 baht in cash assistance to each of five schools in each province.

Again, His Majesty has shown what is important at the moment. Shame the Government chose to squander the same amount of money on a pointless 'knees-up' which just alienates the Thais.
