Developers 'must plan carefully'

Developers should be more careful of road width and check every detail related to construction regulations when planning a high-rise project, says the Thai Condominium Association.

Carelessless could result in a court ordering the building to be torn down, which could drive the developer into bankruptcy, Thamrong Panyasakulwong, the association's president said.

He said the case of the Aetas Bangkok Hotel on Soi Ruam Rudi in Pathumwan, which a court ordered pulled down, would be a case study for developers planning to build a high-rise project.

It seems like developers should measure the whole street by themselves. Is this not the job of the city administration? There should be lots of plans saved somewhere on which city officials should be able to see every detail of every street. Or how else would they know where the street ends and the private property starts?
And who is loosing the money if a condominium is developed and lots of people pay lots of money for the construction? Should every condominium buyer also measure the entire street?
