Confidence low in flood prevention

The people have little confidence in the government's ability to stop floods but are satisfied with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's recent inspection trip to visit flood-hit provinces to lay out prevention plans, an Abac Poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was conducted among 2,585 people, aged over 18, between Feb 15-18 in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao, Suphan Buri, Nan, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Amnat Charoen, Si Sa Ket, Loei, Sakon Nakhon, Udon Thani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Surat Thani, Yala and Songkhla.

The people polled gave the government an average score of 5.28 out of 10 when asked whether they had confidence in the government in terms of flood prevention.

I have no problem with the results on the poll conducted by ABAC. Poll result conveys a reality but not necessarily the reality. The government is wise to use the information for its administration. I engaged(paid) poll and survey services to help me with my business and will continue to pay for such services.

I do agree with the poll. they should not have all the so called experts from the last fiasco involved in any committe what so ever. They did not know what they were doing, that was so obvious.
No committee should have bee formed at all. It should have been an agency with no political members or family members invovled in it.(backhanders and all that) The agency should be made up of members who are perhaps not Thai. Will get on with the job. not only to try and prevent flooding but also have measures when there is flooding to minimise the effect of flooding.

I would like to see the question asked:
Do you think the DP would set aside politics and make an effort to co-operate with any plan by a PT government to control flooding?

And unfortunately the same answer would apply if the DP were to have won the election, and the PT would not cooperate...

And it is a shame that in both instances the country as a whole is the looser.

The Govt. has not shown ability to single and prompt command all the network of provincial and various Dept. BMA Gov. being Dem. is still defying any instruction at every opportunities.
