    Waittaminute.
A close-up photo from another newspaper shows the 1,437 rounds of ammo to be 30-06 in en-bloc clip for M1 Garand. Not a popular round for anyone in this neighborhood.
The rest, RPGs from China, 40mm grenade and 60mm mortar rounds from USA.

All of which being RTA standard equipment....

Our security agencies are again the laughing stock of the world. Our intelligence system must be reformed from top to bottom.

Can you say " Staged " This is all show.

Amazing Thailand! When USA and Israel warned of impending terrorist attacks in Thailand, Thai authorities basically told the public that the threat did not exist. Yet we have the(Iran related) incidences in Bangkok and this one, kept secret by the same authorities who are in denial. The same authorities that procured (for addressing the problems in the South) the divining rod IED detectors and the magical air ships that are filled with Hydogen but cannot be shot down.If these are the people charged with keeping Thailand safe, be afraid......be very afraid!

Convenient timing and a long period of silence, just happens to coincide with the authorities showing what a good job they are doing in combating and thwarting the terrorists in the country where there is no terrorism, after the terrorist attack aimed at only hurting a few individuals, not the general public. So how many individuals was this cache of arms supposed to be aimed at, just a few? Oh thats OK then. But at least we are finding it, Look everyone, everything is OK. Seems odd they never got the Boss, if there ever was one to get. Fresh out of a convenient armoury, i reckon just for show, and will go back there next week after the show is over.

    Disc 6 - It's irony.
The killings and bombings in the south are classed as 'an insurgency' by Thailand because they don't want to accept that there is terrorism in Thailand.

Makes everyone feel safer this staged cache seizure.

I don't understand the comment,"the non-terrorist south." When IED's and other explosives are used to kill people, isn't that terrorism?

  • Discussion 5 : 23/02/2012 at 07:28 PM5

No terrorist activity here at all. But enough for a small force to create mayhem, even a mini war so to say. But the so called influencial figure just like the one who is unusually wealthy will get away with it.
One has to ask why do people have these thoughts also? Because corruption is rife in high places in government office. Surely as we all know this and most of Thailand knows this, why isn't anything done about it?

Are these not exactly the kind of weapons which the red-shirt “peaceful” fighters for democracy used not long ago? “The weapons belonged to an influential figure in the Northeast. They were believed to have either been intended for use in creating unrest in the country, or […]” That fits somehow…
But with the newly formed intelligence coordination team with Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung in charge it is not exactly likely that any weapons (or anything else) will ever be linked to the violent red mob. TiT
