Police officer shot, wounded in Pattani

A police officer from the Muang Pattani police station was seriously wounded by a gunman at a fishing pier in moo 6 of tambon Samilae in Pattani’s Muang district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Pol Lt Chote Auansisai, 48, deputy crime suppression superintendent at Muang Pattani police station, was watching people repair fishing nets at the pier when a gunman approached and fired at him sevral times with a pistol.
The victim was shot in his cheek, neck and torso and collapsed. He was rushed to Pattani hospital.
