To be a democracy or, not to be, that is the question!

The stupidity of the politically motivated censorship committee has brought this film to the attention of the world, practically every press agency is running the story. It has also brought to the world's attention the fact that Thailand has become a country that represses freedoms in every way. Whilst Mynamar moves forward Thailand steps backwards.

I have to laugh because this is so sad. All politicans call Thailand a democracy but they do this. Send them back to school and re-educate them on what democracy means.

The Bard tells us that the purpose of a play is "to hold, as 'twere the mirror up to nature ... to show the very age and body of the time his form and pressure". 'Tis no the film that is at fault then, but the nature, form and pressure of the time!

Totally agree with D14. And lest we forget, even The Bard had to keep his patrons happy and watch his political “Ps” and “Qs”. That’s the real Shakespearean tragedy.

I would like to see photographs of the people who banned the film on a page of the Bangkok Post. They should be named and indirectly shamed. Did they make this decision after a Skype video call? That would be ironic.

One look at the photo and you can see the problem straight away. Look at the shape of the main actors head, the one sitting on the throne - nuf said !
