Red-shirt pavilion burnt down in South

A pavilion in a brand new red-shirt village in Songkhla was set on fire and burned down on Tuesday morning.

The arsonist struck only a day after Tida Tavornseth, chairwoman of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), presided over the opening ceremony of the red-shirt village in Songkhla's Chana district.

Police initially suspected the motive was political, because some local people were not happy with the red-shirt movement's push into the southern province.

Probably someone relocated from Bangkok after losing job following the red arson. What goes
    around comes around.

Discussion 23. Glkad to see you admit that your beloved reds are arsonists. Admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery.

watchdog D22: there is nothing to turn around, because there are no yellow shirts. This shit idea of colored villages is only and solely a red idea.

Eric D25: the red shirt villages worry a lot more people than you think. Why do the reds have to set up red villages? What is the purpose? They can vote for Phuea Thai whenever they want, they don't need red villages for that. The reason is provocation and the outcome is division. Anybody who supports this obviously does not want to see Thai people living in peace as one folk.

Given the aggressive history of the reds, these red villages are more than scary and a threat to unity and peace. Their leaders are a threat to national security.

Thailand political drama pale in comparision with those in Europe and Middle East, burning afew buildings in the city cannot compare to the daily riots and protest in Europe and the heavy bombardment of civilians in Syria. So burning a small wooden hut can create such a big uproar on tv, media blog like this one then the country would implode and break apart if something like a bigger house was burnt, a civil war between the north east and the south. A storm in a teacup got everyone so worked up, hardly intelligent at all.

So the Southerners are afraid of being brainwashed!
It might come as a surprise to some of you, but brainwashing has been a major activity in Thailand for decades, probably centuries. It is hard to say exactly how long, because Thai history books are somewhat 'biased'. A systematic negligence of education, pathetic mass media and a dominant military are red flags. To top it, Thailand is moving in the wrong direction, irrespective of whether the Dems or PT/TRT/etc are perceived to run the show (ref Computer Act and LM)

Of course, a carelessly discarded cigarette butt, or some less than safety-concious welding work, etc., could not possibly be the cause, given the stringent fire prevention regulations enforced everywhere now.

At a rough guess, and based on the photo, the so-called ‘pavilion’ must occupy 10 square meters at most. Get a grip. It’s hardly the Reichstag.

I would appreciate if the red shirts make alcohol free villages.

Dozens of red shirt villages opening up in the Dem Party southern stronghold? Interesting development.

kasper 18 - "you can easily help the unemployed without first asking them to wear a red t-shirt"
The red village people have entrepreneurial programs, of which is decided on at UDD meetings and paid for by members.

"drugs are already banned by national law. We do not need red village rules for that."
It's like a neighborhood watch and peer counselling program.

ANDROID #23, good to see you agree the reds are ( also) arsonists but be careful comrade; Khun Thida will not like these comments because she wants all to know the 36 buildings in BKK burned because of the strong sunshine!!
