Look at all the soil erosion around the man made concrete and lack of trees .

Phrae is not a wealthy area and they cannot afford to lose land and crops. The 85,000 baht "typing error" for compensation would go a long way up there. I hope they get assistance and recover quickly. I also hope they get a better understanding of how deforestation contributes to flash floods and learn accordingly. My sincere sympathy for the hard times they must be enduring.

Again, we were promised by Peua Thaksin Party during the 2011 elections that ending flooding would be one of their top priorities "lagorn nom tuam" - they claimed last year it wasn't their fault - they were new in office and the remaining taint of the Democrats had been the cause. What is their excuse now? Impossible to control flooding? I guess they shouldn't have made promises they had not way of keeping - a violation of the social contract - grounds for ALL of them to resign.
