Warrant out for key man in exam scam

The Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Court on Friday issued an arrest warrant for a sixth suspect, alleged to be the key culprit, in the cheating scandal surrounding Sunday's admission exam for the non-commissioned police officer school.

The suspect was identified as Wibulsak Saenjak, 29, a Lampang native.

This suspect has key information about the rest of the people in the gang behind the exam scam, said Lampang police chief Pol Maj Gen Pornchai Pakpongsri. Police had already searched one of the suspect’s houses, but had not found any important evidence.

Some applicants I am sure have friends in higher places. Do you think it matters how they score on the entrance exam? That would be a bigger scandal.

Nothing is said about how the new tests were obtained to insure the correct answers would be known before the testing commenced. Without someone providing the new tests to the suspects their business would be worthless.

All of the police officers caught should be investigated for unusual wealth. Where did they get so much money to pay for the answers?

Only in Thailand when officials are caught cheating and being corrupt are they transferred to an inactive post .Is that so we forget about it and two weeks later they can just pick up where they left off ? Shameless

This can't be true! Cheating on an entrance exam to become a policeman in order protect the public and enforce the laws? Next there will be some cockamamie story about politicians purchasing the useless university degree required to be appointed a politician!

So these applicants couldn't even pass the exam for admission to the NCO school, to be a lance corporal. Just how difficult can that exam possibly be? Yet they were so ignorant, or lazy, they felt a need to borrow up to 500,000 baht to buy the answers. And these are the people who enforce the law, corrupt from the very start.

    69 months - not years

spicy, discussion 1, you surely would have failed the test - without a device, that is. Do the numbers again! Based on salary alone, the ROI is less than 7 years. Tea, coffee and other money included, a year or two at most.

  • Discussion 3 : 15 Jun 2012 at 16.113

This scam has a long, very long history. It's a broadly known fact that these devices have been in use for many years. Only because someone failed to pay someone, this has become "an issue", leading to people being temporarily transferred "to inactive positions".
Mind you, suspects of petty crime are arrested, put behind bars and refused bail - but then, lets admit, those small suspects are not uniformed. You may ridicule your integrity at every possible occasion - but do not expect any respect from society.

Is it any wonder they rarely catch anyone? They always have the media warn them.

  • Discussion 1 : 15 Jun 2012 at 15.291

Starting slary for a policeman in Thailand is about B7,200 per month. Do the numbers. It would take 69.4 years for the ROI of B500,000. Of course if you are a sucessful policeman and become a police Captain you can buy a pink Bentley.
