Court accepts case against Supachai

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions has accepted a case brought against Supachai Phosu, a former deputy agriculture minister of the Bhumjaithai Party, for violating the Criminal Code and and the Election Act of 2007.

This was announced today by Chaisit Trachutham, chief of the court's Election Cases Division and the nine-member bench of judges handling the case.

Mr Supachai is accused of violating Article 157 of the Criminal Code and Articles 57 and 137 of the Election Act in connection with a speech he made at Rim Pao Hotel in Kalasin province on June 12, 2009 when he was invited to chair the the opening of a workshop organised by the Land Development Department.

    Well...supreme Court better get busy, because according to this article of in BP everybody does it, part of the culture....why punish one ?

    Only thing that the article not touches a lot is that most high positions in the administration have to be bought ..:)

    If the court ultimately rules against this candidate, I see no reason why it should not start an avalanche of similar cases, as candidates of all political parties promise the moon in each election, and unlimited goodies in individual districts.
