Uefa rejects Grammy's plea

The Union of European Football Associations has rejected GMM Grammy's plea for it to allow True Visions and other satellite TV operators in Thailand to rebroadcast Euro 2012 matches.

Woravat: Tried to mediate dispute

Uefa's rejection of Grammy's request kills off the hopes of Thai soccer fans without Grammy's set-top boxes or conventional antennae to watch the remainder of the tournament which is halfway through the quarter finals.

the penny has not dropped to view most sporting events you have to buy a concession true vision had 4 years to do this but choice to act like a builder keeps the money in the back pocket hopeing they,ll get away with it the board should be sacked its again tarnished thailand credibility and again shot themselves in the foot

"It was the second request to Uefa after a first one was rejected on the grounds that it came after Uefa's deadline for approving broadcasting and rebroadcasting rights."

After being told in an unequivocal manner, they are rejected due to the deadline - they asked another two times! Are there any adults left in Thailand?

If your Thai tune into Channel 3 and watch it in Thai for free.

If your farang tune into Astrosports and watch it in English for free.

    Who really needs true?

Get a pirated signal and broadcast it anyway, if the UEFA does not like that, they can sue True in a Thai Court, that would be more amusing to watch than the games themselves. Sad that more people do not see the greed involved in professional sports and abandon all interest in them.

Don't blame UEFA, blame the flaw in Thai law... Make it mandatory that important (global) events have to be broadcasted by all TV operators. Thus, a national agreement for all and paid by all...

One would think that all of the talk between GMM and True would happen before the EURO2012 games started. Maybe True can show re-runs like they do now.
