Fragile river bank a threat to community

Residents of a riverside community in Ayutthaya province fear that riverbank erosion will swallow up their homes.
The Chao Phraya River's bank has been badly eroded since last year's floods, possibly due to abrupt changes in water levels. The damage is particularly bad in Bang Ban district, where the riverbank has been submerged since late last year.
The level of the Chao Phraya River is rising fast because of incoming rainwater from the North and the upper Central Plains, so the erosion has not stopped.
