Sad news, may he rest in peace.

Certainly, this is sad. But it is also a fact that a rational human being, a person, made a decision that was his to make, and acted on that decision. He seems to have harmed no one else directly, so no wrong was committed.

Sorry martinm, understand how you feel; I lost a friend many years ago (no Facebook at this time) he said bye-bye calling me and others.

    All,

I'm a close friend of Juan and would like to make some comments...
This article should be amended, as he did not commit suicide in front of his friends on Facebook - you cannot broadcast with your webcam, as far as I know...

Anyway, I was chatting with him as usual and then he confessed me his intentions of taking his life. I tried hard to change his mind, got in touch with some of his friends living in Bangkok asking them to rush to his place (I live in Europe, so Thailand is a bit far away), phoned the Spanish Embassy and even their emergency phone (they didn't move a finger...)... but Juan (or Juancho, as friends used to call him) said farewell, went offline and left us forever by taking a lethal dose of Pentobarbital (you can see a pic -his last post- of the glass on his Facebook wall), a drug used for human euthanasia (among others).

We all regret his loss and we'll miss him.

    Thanks and regards.

One cannot kill oneself on Facebook. He may have had a browser window open when he committed suicide, but he could have had a browser window open to any of a billion web sites.
